How we deliver the EYFS at Creative Kidz
At Creative Kidz Out of School club we are working with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for children in reception or foundation year.
Part of the EYFS is to have good partnership working with schools and nurseries etc. The reason for this is to have effective communication and to compliment what these other settings are doing, but not to replicate.
One of the requirements of the EYFS is for us to carry out regular observations of your child to enable us to monitor their development and help us with planning activities appropriate to their interests and developmental needs. Your child has been allocated a Key-Person in the setting who will carry our observations, complete feedback sheets and respond to any comments that you make. Observation and feedback will be shared with you and also stored in our EYFS profile folder, which will be shared with your child’s school/nursery.
We also need to record your child’s “Starting Points” to help is to get to know them and to indicate their current level on the Early Learning Goals scale. To enable us to do this we need your help, because we feel that the people who know children the best are you, the parents/carers. We would greatly appreciate any information about your child e.g. likes. Dislikes, hobbies, or what they like to do best so that we can support this at club.
On our book sessions page you will find a copy of our “All about me” sheet, which we ask you to complete with your child and return. There is a space for a photo of your child and we are happy to produce this at club if you do not have one available.
We really appreciate your help and support in this matter.
